I will not imagine that mixing all of that might be less costly then having the surgery done here in the States. The difficulty with the plans put forward by Obama and Congress so far is they not only continue, but expand the practices that led straight to the current situation - medicare plans that cover too much, insulating customers
from the price of their care and junking the one mechanism which has been shown to keep costs down in other industries - competition. Till the bulk of people in this country are paying for the bulk of their care ( read : routine and basic care, including office visits, prescribed drugs and minor procedures ) in the red, there'll be no correction in costs.
