Safe Youngsters Day set for Sat. in Gering
An inflatable kiddiepillar obstruction course from the Theatre Skating Rink will be set up at Saturdays Safe Children Day at the Gering school carpark. From ten am to 1:30 pm the parking lot at Gering highschool at 13th and U streets is converted into a kid automobile seat inspection station accompanied by safety-related booths and activities of all sorts. There's a Safety Quiz Bowl where youngsters and fogeys can answer safety-related questions and enter a drawing to win the grand prize of a cycle, donated by dentist Michael Schaff. "The kid restraint law in Nebraska demands that all youngsters up to age six must be restrained in a kid safety seat or booster seat. Parents and carers need to be advised that most youngsters should be over eight years of age and eighty pounds to fit correctly in the lap and shoulder belt.".
